The young man in the above photo, Joe, posed himself as he did which makes the image interesting. I bet it tells you a good story. Because that's what a photo does; tells a story. The girl is just as interesting in the background. What is she looking at? Where is this place she is sitting? What is she drinking?
Street photography has a lot to offer each time you go out. I believe being patient with making street shots goes a long way. My perspective is, many "street photographers" are making boring photos. A person sitting on a park bench or standing on a sidewalk using a cellphone is not interesting. Now, if a person is standing on a sidewalk, looking in my direction and flipping me off... THAT makes for an interesting photo.
Take your time with street photography. Don't make of photo of every Tom, Dick and Henrietta on the streets unless they are doing something interesting.
